What can we say? We have been writing about 5.11 before and there is a reason for it - it is one of the biggest tactical pants manufacturers out there, and it keeps on makign high quality pants for hardcore professionals who really care what they wear. You don't want to wear old jeans to work because you will just look stupid, at the same time you don't want to wear dress pants because they will break, and you will break with them. 5.11 has made it their business to provide experts in any profession with pants that simply make thier lives easier - these are no different from the others.
Because they manufacture the pants to the needs of the people wearing them, 5.11 have paid a lot of attention to the materials that are used, and the design of the pants. Most companies that make cargo pants, just put pockets on the legs, and they think that they are done - 5.11 designs the pockets so that you don't have to worry about where you are going to put that one tool that never fits anywhere, and seems to be lost all the time! The pockets are large but at the same time they aren't too big, and they are well shaped as well. The fabric feels like it could take a grenade and still come out in one piece, but for some weird reason it is also comfortable at the same time.
These don't quite get to the level of the Wrangler pants, but still they do beat them in some areas. The design is flawless and I can't stress enough that! If you haven't worn pants like this before, you won't even understand why it is important - once you have a pair of pants that have perfect pockets and correct ribbing in the back of the knees you will know why. These are by the way really popular in war zones, because they have perfect pockets - you won't lose your equipment even if you have to duck and cover - but also there are straps where you can attach your kevlar for protection.
With our insane rating we are going to give these pantss 4/5 as well because there could be something better here as well. They could look better? Yes, but not much. They could feel better? Yes but not much... Could there be better pockets for knives and cell phones and other small equipment? Not really..
